Go on a Sugar Bush Adventure at White Meadows Farm in St. Catharines from now until March 30th. Perfect for families looking for a fun filled day, the Sugar Bush Adventure is a self guided tour back in the bush with presentations, re-enactors, campfires and tons of information on the development of maple syrup production through the years.
The tour begins with a ride on the Sugar Shuttle, first ones at 9:30am and last one is at 3:30pm, taking you back into the bush where you will find lots to do. You can stay here as long as you would like, so dress for the weather. The self-guided tour takes you through a Native Camp with stories, pelts, antlers and a campfire, Pioneer Camp with re-enactors and fiddlers, Lumberjack station where you can cut your own wood coin and brand it for 50 cents, face painting for $1.00, Taffy station with taffy, hot apple cider and hotdog roasting, tree tapping, sap line maze and finally Ye Olde Bridge.
Although I haven’t had the pleasure of taking this adventure, I remember as a child going to a Sugar Bush in Huntsville with my brother, cousin, parents and grandparents. It was always wonderful to bundle up and have fun outside… not to mention the sweet treats that my family always purchased. It’s wonderful that families in Niagara don’t have to travel far to have this same experience!
